In our country, if you want a Bible, there are a multitude of ways to get one – every bookstore sells them, churches give them away, and you can even steal the one from your hotel room. As a result, many American Christians have more than one Bible and typically multiple versions (NIV, NLT, ESV, etc.).
But in other countries, Christian resources, including the Bible, are not so prevalent. In fact, in many countries not even the pastors or missionaries have a Bible of their own to use, much less a Sunday School curriculum.
This is a huge problem.
To address this problem, we invite American Christians to donate one of their extra Bibles in an effort to fulfill the Great Commission:
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matt. 28:19-20)
That’s what this really comes down to – making disciples. If, when you think back on your life, you are able to identify the Bible as influential for your own walk, then you know how important it is. Donating your Bible or other Christian resources will ensure that other disciples are being made worldwide.
It is just one small way you can help fulfill that Great Commission. Will you join us today?
